I think there should be a way to sync state of the chain without running execution node. ( actually any staked node in particular )
I am waiting patiently for the developments for last couple of months, but although there were some promising developments ( consensus follower etc ), it is kind of disappointing that there is not a single way to sync blockchain data somehow.
I am sure, this can be useful for creating a lot of 3rd party services and good ecosystem around.
